If you keep doing the same thing and expect to get a different answer you are insane.

That is why, at the LawStore, one of our constant tasks is the reinvention of ourselves and how we deliver legal services to our clients and how we can “stay ahead of the game”.

Five years ago when the LawStore acquired Lang Hemming and Hall, its main objective was to deliver a Law Practice of the 21st century to its clients. The last five years have been spent re-inventing our processes and equipment to allow this to happen. We have used the City Office of Lang Hemming & Hall as the basis of this new venture and have built upon its history and clients to build a more modern offering to you our clientele. Whilst the world is now full of technology and “disruptive” practices, we are totally excited that this change will not be disruptive but totally productive.

The final step of this re-invention is the launch of our “Virtual Legal Practice”. www.lawstore.com.au. It is now done! Please come visit.

Being a hybrid digital practice is not about total automation it is about using technology to run our administration and of course to communicate, create and deliver our products and services and yet still maintain that personal touch and connection.

We

  • will still answer our phones ourselves.  You will not be dealing with call centres from overseas;
  • will still run our “real offices” should you wish to deal face to face;
  • will still have associated offices in Sydney & Melbourne;
  • in actual fact are putting on more Professional staff not less; And as always;
  • If you have an issue with anything you can call a real person and talk about it.

This is all about providing service in a digital age. Come and join us in the future because it is here now.

Divorces to your “in Box”
– or Matrimonials, – take a Tablet.

In previous newsletters I have discussed the digitisation of the Pexa Property system
.

This move to all things digital is not just the domain of the Property division but there have also been moves for some years to bring the Court system on line. The Federal Court (which deals with family matters) now has its family law applications completed on line and supporting documents uploaded directly to their site.

When orders are made they are delivered electronically. Who would have thought we would arrive so quickly to the stage where we could pick up the papers on our smart phone or tablet.

Legal Laughs
A blind rabbit and a blind snake meet each other.

Neither one remembers what kind of animal they are, so they decide to feel each other.

The rabbit says, “You feel me first.”

The snake says okay, and he starts feeling the rabbit. He says, “Well, you have fur all over, and a little cotton tail, and two long ears, and big back feet…”
The rabbit says, “I know! I’m a rabbit! Yippee!”

Then the rabbit feels the snake.

He says, “Okay, you’re long and thin, and slimy all over, and there’s a little forked tongue…”

The snake says, “Damn, I’m a lawyer

Queensland Election Gossip
They say that it is old news when you hear it from the Taxi driver on the way from the airport. Well ours isn’t quite that bad but get ready for the crowds of placard waving supporters asking you to honk your horn if you support the Arctic Goldfish Preservation Party.

We like to think of ourselves as being involved in our community and we have heard from our Arana Hills office that the Queensland Electoral Commission have taken out a short term lease on the premises next door. – No prizes for guessing what for.

The only issue is when and my bet is that it will not be announced until after the postal plebiscite on mixed marriage.

It would not be the first time that State Politics would be distracted by Federal side issues would it?
